Our Response to COVID-19 And How We Are Serving Talent + Brands.
In response to the pandemic, Casting Coin is experimenting with different types of photoshoots since the traditional way of shooting is just not safe, at this time. Our main priority, as a company, is to make sure all talent on our roster secure paying jobs regularly, and that our brand partners produce the content they need.
Social distancing has made it unsafe for photo crews to work in the same room together. As such, Casting Coin has devised 3 shoot types in an effort to work around this issue and keep work progressing:
3 SHOOT OPTIONS:
- Remote: The photographer shoots the model (s) via video. Hairstylists + Makeup Artists coach models via Zoom through the whole process.
- Social distancing: The photographer provides the crew full PPE and operates using social distancing best practices. Matt Licari has done several successful shoots like this.
- All-in-one: Select models are able to shoot themselves while also doing their own hair + makeup. Brands send products to their home. Many of our models are great with lighting and camera and have done gorgeous work on their own.
LOGIC AROUND THE ALL-IN-ONE SHOOT
Our team is committed to securing work for every person and profession on our roster. Some people have taken to social media and voiced concern that our all-in-one photoshoot hurts the industry by removing the need for photographers, makeup artists, hairstylists, and stylists. Not true. We know the all-in-one shoot is the safest possible way to create content during the pandemic.
It’s good for everyone – including Casting Coin – to have full crew on photoshoots. It’s better for individual artists who need employment, and for the industry as a whole that is rich with tradition and inspiration through collaboration. To that end, Casting Coin will work diligently to make that happen as soon as the pandemic is over.
