How To Navigate The “Experience” Section On LinkedIn!

At first glance, people may just think your LinkedIn profile is just a copy-paste of your resume, but it is much more than that. When you start working on the “experience” section of your LinkedIn you want to keep three things in mind: Clear, concise and to the point. For example- as a photographer you can showcase what brands you have worked for, what equipment you use, what software you use you edit, etc.

In order to take your experience section to the next level, you can make some minor changes to your wording. Some simple switches to help encase your profile are changing phases like “Modeled for a company” to “I was part of a nationwide campaign for a multi-million dollar company”. By getting more specific in describing your experience, it helps employers understand exactly what you did as well as give yourself the credit for all the hard work you did!

FYI LinkedIn is not just for corporate America – the creative industry – like big fashion and beauty brands – does all of their full-time hirings there. So, even if CDs don’t typically hire models or photographers on LinkedIn they hire other people and because of that, it’s a great way for you to get on their radar.
